ABOUT ESTATE
Worasa Mijane has been running a processing station in the Gedeb area for many years. Halo Hartume, their second processing station, was established in 2013. One of their main goals is to export traceable coffee from every kebele (local administrative unit) in Gedeb. They source coffee cherries from around 400 smallholder farmers near the wet mill.
Thanks to this careful process, coffee from Halo Hartume is kept separate from other coffees in the region, ensuring purity and traceability. Farmers can bring their cherries directly to the washing station immediately after picking, which helps keep each batch distinct.
The Mijane family works closely with these farmers, offering training on the benefits of shade trees, organic compost, and proper handpicking techniques. This ongoing support ensures that coffee from Halo Hartume maintains a consistent and exceptional flavor.
